Build up your skills

We honestly believe that EUSAC is the best place to train for cold water diving, no matter what your level is!

We have lots of great in-house instructors of all levels, the equipment used for training is cheap for club members, and we have our own boats! Putting all that together means that with EUSAC you can get great quality training at the best value and have the most fun too!

The year kicks off with Ocean Diver lectures, pool training, a loch trip and dive planning workshops for people who are absolutely new to diving. At the same time Dive Leader lectures go on for more advanced divers.

In the second semester there is the Sports Diver course, to build up from the Ocean Diver. Every year we also have O2 and boat handling courses run in the club.

All our diving is insured under BSAC and therefore we are only legally allowed to train divers under the rules and regulations of BSAC.

Nevertheless, we welcome divers from all other diving bodies (e.g. PADI, NAUI, SSI, CMAS.).

BSAC qualifications are well respected all over the world and just as you can dive with BSAC with outside qualifications you can convert BSAC qualifications to other diving standards.

If you learn to dive in Scotland, you can dive anywhere in the world.

The Club

Edinburgh University Sub-Aqua Club is branch 0407 of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC). We are a student club officially recognised by Edinburgh University Sports Union. The club is made up of a wide range of people from all degree subjects, members of staff, and students from other Edinburgh universities too. We go diving all year round so if you have the itch for diving you won't be disappointed.

We are well equipped with a selection of kit for hire at low rates, club boats that you can learn to pilot, a pool of instructors, and strong support from Alumni members. If there's anything you want to do in your recreational diving career, chances are you can do it with us!

Are you a beginner with no diving experience whatsoever? Not a problem! Want to further your training? We've got you covered! Got thousands of dives under your belt? We can take you further!

We welcome divers from a wide range of other organisations such as PADI, NAUI, SSI, CMAS, and more. You can cross straight over to BSAC with no extra costs: simply join up and come diving.

If you're already an instructor with another organisation you can still instruct with us. BSAC offer a Instructor Crossover process that is easy to complete.

If you would like to meet us catch us at the Fresher's fair, check out the pub nights, or send one of the committee a message!
