Any questions we've missed? Feel free to message the relevant committee member, and we'll do our best to answer.
Where do you dive? All over Scotland mainly, it has the best diving in the UK and some of the best in the world. We also run trips abroad to places such as Malta, Barbados and Madagascar. And we go up to the wrecks of Scapa Flow and Seal Reef almost every year.
I've never dived before, can I join?Of course! People with experience are very valuable, and we get a few, but mainly we get people new to diving and were happy to facilitate training people up to any level of diving.
I've never dived in a drysuit before, can I dive with EUSAC?Yes- as part of our new member "check-out" trips you will be given a drysuit lesson - a must have for the bracing (but refreshing) Scottish waters.
I'm a qualified diver, but not with BSAC, can I join?Of course! All qualified PADI and others become BSAC divers for just the cost of a day trip to complete your qualifying "check-out" dive.

Can you even see anything?
Visibility varies of course, but can be just as good as tropical waters (no, really!). Having seen two world wars, and having such a strong maritime history, the Scottish coastline has had many wrecks over the years and we are lucky enough to be able to dive some of the world's greatest wrecks (e.g. Scapa Flow, Sound of Mull), which people travel from all over the globe to dive for good reason, they are simply breath-taking and unique wrecks.
Is it cold?Well it'll always be above 0 degrees... so there's that. But no really the temperature is never an issue. You'll always have the right kit to keep you warm, and it's definitely worth the occasional numb fingers. Plus the things you'll be seeing are so interesting you'll hardly notice the cold. (photo is definitely an exception)

Is it expensive?More expensive then some other hobbies, yes. But you wont be able to get the kind of diving we do anywhere else for as cheap. We get a great deal of tank fills from the EDC and all our kit hire is very cheap and available to see on this website. Only thing is hiring a drysuit can get a little pricey over multiple trips so we suggest to keen members to get their own second hand fairly soon. Which is only normally £50-200 and can last you a couple of years if treated right. (Photo is from our 50th anniversary burns night dinner, we definitely don't usually look like this.)

Will you teach me to swim?
No, sorry. The first qualification (Ocean Diver) requires you to be able to swim competently, we have so much else to teach that its just not possible.
