Diving and beyond...

BSAC Skills Development Courses allow you to learn skills to enrich your diving experiences

Oxygen Administration

Practise your Basic Life Support and learn to give the most effective first aid in the case of diving incidents. Build confidences to make you an invaluable part of a team on the surface during dive trips.

Buoyancy and Trim Workshop

One of the hardest skills to master in diving in your buoyancy (how floaty you are) and trim (how flat your body sits in the water). This workshop allows you to experiment with your weighting and practise how you hold yourself in the water. As well as a being prerequisite for many other skills development courses, the skills learnt will lead to safer and more confident diving.

Accelerated Decompression procedures (ADP)

Learn how to reduce time spent decompressing by breathing oxygen rich gas mixes on the ascent.

Drysuit training

All beginner Ocean Diver trainees will learn to dive in a drysuit. However, we teach drysuit training to all divers crossing over from other agencies to allow comfortable diving in the bracing Scottish waters.

Boat Handling

Learn how to drive a Rigid-hulled Inflatable Boat (RIB) and practice manoeuvres. Boat handlers are an invaluable asset to the club.
